Mamaliga is Mattias Kaufmann on chromatic button accordion and Rebecca Mac on violin. The duo, which was formed in January 2018 has developed a diverse repertoire of Klezmer and traditional music from Hungary, Romania, and Transylvania, as well as their own compositions.

Mamaliga has performed in various cities across the US and Canada, as well as England, the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary. The duo has travelled extensively in Eastern Europe, studying with master musicians in Hungary, Romania, and Serbia including Roma violinist Marcel Ramba, and chromatic button-accordionist Nenad Ivanovic.

Rebecca Mac is currently completing a degree in music performance at Berklee College of Music.

Mattias Kaufmann is completing a degree in contemporary improvisation at New England Conservatory.
